OLED显示器由于其响应迅速和纯黑显示等优点已在VR头显中使用多年。
然而，据The Elec报道， 三星显示总经理Kim Min-woo表示，该公司正在开发一种基于Micro-LED的AR显示技术。该技术被称为硅基Micro-LED（简称“LEDoS”）。
据了解，AR（增强现实）和VR（虚拟现实）之间的区别在于，AR需要更亮的显示器，因为它将与环境光竞争，把虚拟影像投射到现实世界中，需要匹配用户周围光线的亮度。
而VR显示器将用户与世界隔绝开来，仅使用较低的亮度可以完成投影工作。
