VideoLAN基金会称将起诉印度电信部 – 开源派
科技媒体arstechnica报道，管理开源VLC 播放器的法国非盈利组织 VideoLAN 基金会将起诉印度电信部。印度用户访问该网站会显示 “根据电子信息技术部在 2000 年 IT 法下的命令，网站已被屏蔽” 的信息。目前屏蔽时间已经超过半年。
VideoLAN 基金会主席 Jean-Baptiste Kempf 在9月30号正式致函印度电子信息技术部，要求对封杀其域名 https://www.videolan.org/ 做出合理的解释，并举行虚拟听证会，如果印度电信部拒绝这一要求，VideoLAN基金会准备采取法律行动，起诉印度电信部。
Kempf主席表示，VideoLAN基金会是个非盈利组织，不涉及政治，只在反对数字版权（anti-DRM ） 以及一些开源话题上表态。印度电信部封杀VLC 播放器让人十分震惊，尤其当年的印度政府牵头的数字印度中，曾鼓励使用开源的VLC 。VLC 在印度有 8000 万用户，年均下载量 2500 万次。
