美国加州将中国农历新年定为法定假日：可休假8小时

当地时间9月30日，美国加州州长加文·纽森签署新法案，将中国农历新年，也就是春节，定为加州法定节假日。
根据这项新的法案， 公务员、老师、公共交通司机等公共体系的加州雇员，可以额外获得8小时的假日积分，可享有8小时的假期、年假或补偿性休假，来庆祝春节。
纽森指出，中国农历新年用来庆祝摆脱过去一年的烦恼，迎接繁荣和好运继续，而承认农历新年为加州的法定假日， 也是承认亚裔给加州带来的多样性文化。
数据显示，美国加州目前约有1800万华裔，另外还有数百万同样有农历新年传统的东亚和东南亚族群。
