9月22日上午，作为第19届杭州亚运会的重要配套工程，合杭高铁湖杭段(湖州至杭州)正式开通运营。
合杭高铁是我国“八纵八横”高速铁路主通道中“京沪通道”的重要组成部分，连接安徽省合肥市与浙江省湖州市、杭州市，其中合肥至湖州段已于2020年6月28日开通运营。
此次开通的湖杭段位于浙江省，从既有湖州站引出，经湖州市南太湖新区、吴兴区、德清县，杭州市余杭区、西湖区、富阳区和桐庐县，跨富春江后引入杭黄高铁桐庐站。
线路全长129公里，包括桥梁50座，总长81.8公里，隧道33座，总长41.4公里。
