Percona Distribution for MongoDB 4.2.22

Percona Distribution for MongoDB 4.2.22 was released on September 6, 2022. It is a collection of solutions to run and operate your MongoDB efficiently with the data being consistently backed up. Important: With this release, the kmipKeyIdentifier option for data-at-rest encryption using the KMIP protocol (tech preview feature) is optional. This change serves to improve the user experience with Percona Server for MongoDB as the option names and behavior are similar to those of MongoDB Enterprise. However, if data-at-rest encryption using KMIP is configured, it is the breaking change because the standard upgrade procedure does not work. We do recommend to use the data-at-rest encryption using the KMIP protocol only for testing purposes until it is in the general availability stage.

Percona Server for MongoDB 4.2.22-22

Percona Server for MongoDB 4.2.22-22 was released on September 6, 2022. It is an enhanced, source available, and highly-scalable database that is a fully-compatible, drop-in replacement for MongoDB 4.2.22 Community Edition. It supports MongoDB 4.2.22 protocols and drivers. Improvements in this release include making the kmipKeyIdentifier option not mandatory.

Percona Operator for MongoDB 1.13.0

On September 15, 2022, Percona Operator for MongoDB 1.13.0 was released, automating the creation, modification, or deletion of items in your Percona Server for MongoDB environment. The Operator contains the necessary Kubernetes settings to maintain a consistent Percona Server for MongoDB instance.

Some release highlights include:

• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is now an officially supported platform, so developers and vendors of the solutions based on the Azure platform can take advantage of the official support from Percona or just use officially certified Percona Operator for MongoDB images
• Starting from now, the Operator can be installed in multi-namespace (so-called “cluster-wide”) mode, when a single Operator can be given a list of namespaces in which to manage Percona Server for MongoDB clusters

On September 7, 2022, we released Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL 13.8, a collection of tools to assist you in managing PostgreSQL. Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL installs PostgreSQL and complements it by a selection of extensions that enable solving essential practical tasks efficiently.

This release of Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL is based on PostgreSQL 13.8.

Percona Distribution for MySQL (PXC-Variant) 8.0.29

Percona Distribution for MySQL (PXC-variant) 8.0.29 was released on September 12, 2022. It is a single solution with the most critical enterprise components from the MySQL open source community, designed and tested to work together.

Percona Distribution for MySQL provides two deployment variants: one is based on Percona Server for MySQL and another one is based on Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC). This release of Percona Distribution for MySQL is focused on the Percona XtraDB Cluster-based deployment variant. It is based on Percona XtraDB Cluster 8.0.29-21. Release highlights include a number of the bug fixes for MySQL 8.0.29, provided by Oracle.

Percona XtraDB Cluster 8.0.29-21

On September 12, 2022, we released Percona XtraDB Cluster 8.0.29-21, a free, open source, enterprise-grade solution includes the high availability and security features your business requires to meet your customer expectations and business goals. Bugs fixed in this release include:

• PXC-3982: When the replica node is also an asynchronous slave and, while joining the cluster, this node was not ready to accept connections, a SQL thread failed at the start.
• PXC-3118: A fix for when, using a thread pool, a brute force abort for a metadata locking (MDL) subsystem conflict stalled.
• PXC-3999: The cluster was stalled on Waiting for acl cache lock with concurrent user DDL commands.
