9月18日，据国家航天局探月与航天工程中心消息，截至2022年9月15日，天问一号环绕器已在轨运行780多天， 火星车累计行驶1921米，完成既定科学探测任务，获取原始科学探测数据1480GB。
科学研究团队通过对我国自主获取的一手科学数据的研究，获得了丰富的科学成果。
通过对着陆区分布的凹锥、壁垒撞击坑、沟槽等典型地貌的综合研究， 揭示了上述地貌的形成与水活动之间存在的重要联系。
通过相机影像和光谱数据，在着陆区附近的板状硬壳岩石中发现含水矿物，
证明了在距今10亿年（晚亚马逊纪时期）以来，着陆区存在过大量液态水活动。
