美洲开发银行（IDB）旗下创下实验室IDBLab首席执行官Irene Arias Hofman透露，虽然去年已经与花旗银行对用于跨境汇款的代币化货币进行概念验证，但目前还没有考虑推出央行数字货币（CBDC）项目。Irene表示，中央银行的CBDC可能是理想的，但在拉美和加勒比地区还没有意愿，因为商业银行的稳定币也可以发挥作用。不过根据美洲开发银行的区块链发展路线图，该行下一步将会为金融机构提供代币化债券解决方案。此前他们已经在西班牙银行BBVA的帮助下发行价值1000万美元的区块链数字债券，与哥伦比亚Davivienda银行合作发行价值1.1亿哥伦比亚比索的区块链债券。（Ledgerinsights）
