Strange issue with my 'repaired' e-fuse victim....if u consider plugging a phone and running a very special script...imho I'd call it a sort of 'reset' of a 1 to a 0, to me, but that's beside the point, lol

After it taking FedEx 14 days to get my phone from Virginia to Dallas/FW, they did a quick 2 day turnaround and even sent it back by Next day shipping after my rather strong criticism of a 14 day wait.
Anyway, I turn it on an begin a new, fresh setup. I prefer to use the fingerprint scanner. I choose to do just a single print enrollment. I clk thru the 2-3 pages of info...when I get to the actual enrollment it immediately displays an error

Enrollment failed. 'Can not connect to sensor. Contact repair personnel.' Tried all the usual reboot/retry, plugging and taking the Sept. ota update, reboot and retry...no love. I then verified the IMEI numbers...thy match. Get back on google's case, told them my phone was in perfect condition before the ARB brick stunt. I then escalated to the next 'team'. Told them no way I have this error that is most common after a botched screen repair! So I'm getting a brand new replacement,
I tried for a no-hold advance RMA...money is too tight to let them hold $450 . No dice. Phone ships back againg in the morn. Smh...Not sure I believe they don't mess with IMEI #s. There was NEVER an issue with 'my' FP sensor.
First RMA mailed Sept.1 will finically have repl. on about Fri the 23rd. Back in college...my curse was known as "The Ken luck factor" and it was and is the bane of my existence from time to time. But hey...raised enuff of a stink to get a new unit that best be flawless!! No way t spot a screen replacement without opening it. is there?

They would have had to replace the board to fix the phone. The "e-fuse" in question can only be changed ONCE, and once changed, cannot be changed again - that's why it's called a fuse. I don't know where you got the idea that it can be repaired via a "script", but the fact of the matter is the component would have to be physically replaced, and since they manufacture parts for these phones on a massive scale, they just replaced the mainboard, which required opening the phone.
