A new build is now being tested with RP users
Microsoft has recently shipped a new build for Windows 10 testers in the Release Preview channel of the Windows Insider program.
Windows 10 build 19044.2075, which goes live as update KB5017380, comes with plenty of improvements, and one of the most notable concerns old versions of TLS.
Beginning with this build, TSL 1.0 and 1.1 is turned off by default in Microsoft browsers and applications, something that we’ve known it would be happening for a very long time.
Furthermore, Microsoft says it has also included additional improvements for the news and interests experience.
“We provided the ability to search for the controls for news and interests on the taskbar and modify them using the Settings app. To change your settings, navigate to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > News and interests. Otherwise, right-click the taskbar and select Taskbar settings. We supported all taskbar orientations for news and interests. A top, left, or right taskbar now has features and settings much like the horizontal taskbar,” the company explains.
Additional improvements in this build
At the same time, the software giant claims it has started rolling out WebAuthn redirection in Windows 10, while also shipping additional Azure Active Directory authentication improvements.
“We introduced WebAuthn redirection. It lets you authenticate in apps and on websites without a password when you use Remote Desktop. Then, you can use Windows Hello or security devices, such as Fast Identity Online 2.0 (FIDO2) keys. We introduced functionality that lets you use Azure Active Directory (AD) authentication to sign in to Windows using Remote Desktop. Then, you can use Windows Hello or security devices, such as Fast Identity Online 2.0 (FIDO2) keys, for remote sign in. It also enables the use of Conditional Access policies,” Microsoft says.
At this point, there’s obviously no ETA as to when all these improvements could go live for the rest of Windows 10 devices that are not enrolled in the Insider program.
