Israeli startup landscape maps

The value of startup landscapes is in curating a vertical category, and showcasing the various themes and startups in one area.

Readers of VC Cafe know that I passionately collect Israeli startup maps. The Israeli startup ecosystem is very dynamic and maps can quickly become out of date, as we sadly see these days with startup closures.

You can find the previous editions from Q1-Q2 2022,  July 2021,  July 2020 and May 2019.I’ll keep adding to this list as the quarter goes along. I will continue to update this post regularly so don’t forget to check in for updates!

HR Tech Landscape

Greenfield Partners published the latest HR (human resources) Israel startup landscape. Investment in HR-Tech reached an all-time high totalling $12.5 billion in 2021 and accelerated to $7.5 billion in the first half of 2022 alone.

Insurtech startup landscape

Insurtech (or Insurance tech) has produced a number of unicorns in Israel: Lemonade, Hippo Insurance, Next Insurance, Earnix and AtBay to name a few. FinTlv put together this mapping of Israeli insurance/ insurtech landscape, which includes a category for “insurtech enablers”: companies that are not carriers, MGAs, or brokers, but nonetheless play a vital role in the insurance value chain – those that provide tools or services essential to the industry, such as technology used to improve pricing, claims, and underwriting.
