英国女王伊丽莎白二世当地时间8日在苏格兰巴尔莫勒尔堡去世，终年96岁。女王去世在社交媒体上反响巨大，以至于Twitter在美国等多个国家出现中断。据追踪网站中断的Downdetector称，白金汉宫宣布女王去世的六分钟后，数千名Twitter用户在美东部下午1点36分相继报告了中断情况。
多名用户表示收到了以下消息：“推文现在无法加载，请尝试刷新”、“目前无法检索推文”。美国、英国、加拿大和日本均出现了不同程度的中断。

截至发稿，Twitter官方账户和支持部门尚未就中断情况作出回应。
