当地时间9月3日， 美国国家航空航天局（NASA）召开媒体简报会，就新一代登月火箭再次发射的后续计划进行通报。简报会上，管理团队表示，由于液氢泄漏问题尚未解决，在未完全准备好之前，“阿耳忒弥斯1号”登月火箭不会进行发射。
美国国家航空航天局（NASA）局长比尔·纳尔逊表示，“我们不会发射，直到我们认为它是正确的。”他表示，今天所发生的液氢泄漏问题较之前一次严重，技术团队进行了多次尝试都未能解决该问题。因此在再次发射之前，他们需要数周的时间进行数据分析和故障排查，因此管理团队可能将在下周初决定再次发射时间。
