With new cryptocurrencies launched daily, it can be challenging to stay updated and knowledgeable about better offerings. So here are four tokens worth keeping an eye on.

BudBlockz (BLUNT)

BudBlockz is growing a community and platform where users can buy, sell, or exchange cannabis-related products and services. It provides enthusiasts and investors anonymous, easy, and safe access to the global marijuana market, bypassing banking networks. It is also the world’s first asset-backed NFT for cannabis products and related services.

The BudBlockz token operates as governance, and users can use $BLUNT as a medium of exchange, with holders and DAO members having a say on how the ecosystem evolves.

The NFT marketplace also allows holders to obtain fractional ownership of businesses involved.

What makes the BudBlockz crypto so appealing is its broad approach, making it suitable for those looking to be involved or wanting to invest in the fast-growing cannabis market.

Algorand (ALGO)

Algorand is a decentralized, secure, and scalable blockchain with ALGO coins as its cryptocurrency. It was developed by MIT Professor Silvio Micali to solve many of the problems faced by more traditional cryptos.

What sets it apart from other blockchains is that a block is agreed upon by a random selection of tokens before the production of the next block begins. This eliminates the problem of forking. Furthermore, as the agreement is so fast and there are no forks, it means that once someone is paid in ALGO, they don’t have to wait for confirmations.

In addition, thanks to the random selection and speed of block validation, there is very little for hackers to target, making the token incredibly secure.

Fantom (FTM)

Fantom is a blockchain with a DAG-style network structure. It is built on a system called Lachesis, which allows for blocks to be created independently. This makes for faster and cheaper transactions compared to other networks.

The network supports smart contract building and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This means developers can deploy and run Ethereum dApps on the platform. It is also secure thanks to its global and leaderless Proof-of-Stake network.

With Ethereum 2.0 or the ‘Merge’ experiencing delays, Fantom is very appealing right now.

ApeCoin (APE)

ApeCoin is a fungible ERC-20 token used in the APE ecosystem and linked to the highly popular Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection. Like BudBlockz, ApeCoin is building a community with the token acting as governance via the ApeCoin DAO.

The token is designed to serve as a decentralized protocol layer and supports community-led initiatives in web3. These include art, games like Benji Bananas, entertainment, and events. The APE Foundation and community are constantly looking to expand its use cases.

It has also been announced as the native token of BAYC’s metaverse project ‘The Otherside’ and is consequently viewed as an excellent potential long-term investment.
