With many new UX Designers coming into the industry hungry for new knowledge and understanding of the craft, I wanted to put together a list of 10 youtube channels that I personally have found incredibly useful on my journey. Show these guys some love, and if you can think of any others that the community would appreciate, don’t hesitate to let us know!

Without further ado, in no particular order, here’s the list:

#1 Chunbuns

Chunbuns is the first UX youtuber that I found, and she is the white rabbit that took me down the hole! I think any UXer that has searched around for more knowledge on their craft has found Chunbuns at some point of time, and by no surprise as her content (whilst not always UX focused) always feels comfortable and informative!

#2 VA Experience

VA Experience has some really great technical UX analysis on his channel, and does a fantastic job of taking a deep dive into different areas of the user experience, both in terms of what works and what doesn’t.

Definitely glad to have found this channel, and I’m especially grateful for the portfolio & resume tips.

#3 Mizko

I’m a fan of Mizko’s content as he is a designer who has managed to take his freelance career to a level that many aspire to, and he doesn’t keep shut on his secrets to getting there. Whilst I enjoy his freelance and UX income creation content the most, his variety will make sure that you’re learning plenty whilst around.

#4 Yobi321

I only found Yobi’s goldmine through networking, I shot her a message early on in my UX career for tips and tricks from a more senior designer, and she directed me to her youtube channel (Which by the way, if you aren’t networking or don’t know how to, start with linkedin!), to which I’ve learned a great degree and cannot thank her enough for providing the community with such great insights!

#5 Malewicz

Founder of the Hype4 Academy, and a large player in many UX communities across social platforms, I couldn’t talk about UX youtube channels without mentioning Michal Malewicz who I personally have gained a great deal of knowledge from!

#6 femke.design

Femke is a create who’s content I’ll always watch, with some informative pieces such as properly diving into what separates the junior & senior UXer.

I’m a big fan of her portfolio content as well, which was a great help to me during the time when I built my own portfolio out.

#7 Sara Brunettini

Sara is a content creator I’ve only recently stumbled upon, and is someone who definitely deserves more than the 11k subscribers she currently has. Her content is open and educational, openly sharing valuable information to the community such as salary overviews, take home assessments and great content geared towards the beginner that tackles what UX entails and if it’s the career for you!

#8 Maddy Beard

Maddy’s eye for visual design is something that any designer can learn from, and not only does she do a fantastic job of presenting case studies for us as a community to learn from, but is also a skilled teacher, easily communicating useful knowledge such as color theory, empathy mapping and many other useful bits of UX theory.

#9 DesignCourse

DesignCourse is the longest standing on this list, having created design videos for over 12 years now, his content continues to bring value to designers everywhere.

I’m a big fan of his Rapid Redesign series, alongside the other topics that he brings useful insight and knowledge into, such as layouts, color schemes, typography and loads more.

#10 aonatalks

Aona focuses on the research side of UX, and though personally I don’t take on that role, I find it fascinating to understand and experience the process of UXR from an experienced researcher such as herself, as without actual research, UXD will only be based on personal biases, a fatal flaw for any experience.

#11 Designsense

Sometimes getting inside the head of another UX Designer is all you need, and as a beginner it can be a massive boon to see the visual work process not only in terms of finished products, but from concept to creation.

Designsense’s best content for myself are the slightly longer Daily UI challenges, which give designers at all levels inspiration as well as incentive to start their own Daily UI challenge (Which I’m a huge advocate for!).
