8月2日晚间，新浪微博APP页面显示加载失败，网页端微博也无法访问，访问时提示：“此网站无法提供安全连接。weibo.com发送的响应无效。ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR ”。
之后，微博客服发布消息称，8月2日晚22时06分起，由于自动扩容系统故障，导致北京永丰等地机房的宽带容量超限，影响了部分省份移动端用户访问，期间PC端用户可正常使用，至22时36分，服务开始陆续恢复。给大家带来的不便深表歉意。
据报道，根据航班追踪网站“Flightradar24”显示，美国众议院议长南希·佩洛西搭乘“波音C-40C运输机”（呼号SPAR19）于马来西亚雪邦机场起飞，并于晚间22时43分抵达台北松山机场。
