2013年下半年，百度以19亿美元的高价收购当时如日中天的91助手，成为收购历史上的一段佳话传奇。
91助手出现在智能手机刚起步的2009年，是当时全球唯一的跨终端、跨平台的内容分发平台，当时第一部iPhone也才刚刚推出。
凭借着破解、越狱等特色，占尽先机的91助手在2013年宣布其平台上的累计应用下载量超过百亿 ，相当于平均每位中国人利用91助手下载了8款软件。
