天文学家首次发现银河系外休眠黑洞：距离16万光年

据英国《自然·天文学》杂志报道，欧美天文学家首次在银河系之外的星系中发现了一个休眠的恒星级黑洞。
该黑洞被命名为VFTS 243，位于大麦哲伦星系毒蜘蛛星云，由一颗质量20倍于太阳的恒星死亡后行程，目前质量至少是太阳的9倍，距离地球约16万光年。
天文学家耗时6年，用欧洲南方天文台甚大望远镜观测了1000颗大质量恒星，发现一颗质量约25倍于太阳的恒星正围绕某个“看不见的”天体运行，周期约10天。
分析结果显示，那个“看不见的”天体，就是一个休眠的黑洞。
