Can somebody pls explain what does this mean?
It is showing SM-S906U1/DS
I wish to change csc from XAA to INS, which is not possible for U1. Now it is showing U1/DS.
Please explain

No you can't. US version cannot change CSC to non-US or flash any non-US firmware.
Stick with XAA, or flash U firmware if you want faster updates.

That's not this case.
EUX it's sold in my country.
Portugal gets S90xB EUX for unbranded S22.
However no OTA's after unbrand the device from MEO to EUX. This is common to all users who do this change through Samkey from branded CSC to unbranded

Perhaps your current firmware version is not available for EUX. Manually flashing the latest EUX firmware via Odin may solve the problem.

I changed my CSC from KTC (a Korean carrier) to KOO (Korean unbranded) using Samkey on my G981N a while ago, and OTA worked as usual. No Korean bloatwares.

DS is mean Dual Sim.

Dual Sim now support in model S90xE and S90xB (Physical sim and Esim).

hello everybody,

for the past 5 days I've tried every suggested solution here to change my phone CSC to XID or SEK double or triple times each. used samFW FRP, SamKEY and also the phone code method. nothing worked.

tried every single remark mentioned here like : turning off security on my phone, removing the sim cards, turning off eSim, changed the USB cables, used different PCs etc. nothing worked.

both SamKEY and SamFW FRP showed me that the operation successful but the CSC still not changed.View attachment 5649749 View attachment 5649751

the only solution i didn't use is flashing New Indonesian XID ROM through Odin. and i don't want to do that yet because i don't want to go through the whole process of formatting and reinstalling all my apps and data etc.

my phone info is :
Galaxy S22 Ultra 512gb , SM-S908E/DS, OXM_XSG_12_0010, XSG/XSG, XSG/XSG/XSG
android security patch 1 June 2022.

any help is appreciated.

thank you.

For your device SM-S908E 3 options:

- Change to INS (or XXV) via SamFW FRP (free)

OR

- Change to INS (or XXV) via Samkey (paid).

OR

Download via Frija firmware for SM-S908E XID CSC
Three are 5 files inside, you have to use only 4 of them.

Update (free) via ODIN 3.14.4 with BL_, AP_, CP_ and HOME_CSC_ files.
(Using HOME_CSC_ file in CSC section instead of CSC_ file will NOT reset your device. So, again, do not use CSC_... file!!!

XID and SEK will not work with your device. XID is not part of the OXM multiCSC (which your device has). SEK is not part of the S90xE model at all (it's in S90xB with Exynos).

If you want XID you can just install the full Indonesian firmware with Odin, for free.
thank you. appreciate the help.
i think i made the mistake of assuming that XID will work for every model

for now i changed to XXV and both call recorder and Samsung pay working

thank you. you saved me .. your answer (change to XXV) worked perfectly. i used SamFW FRP.
now both call recorder and Samsung pay working.

thank you again. and as contribute to the thread, i have extra SamKEY credits so any one in need for them just DM me.

Anyone with an Australian S22, does changing CSC to INS/XXV/XID... enable the second sim slot?

The Australian version doesn't have DS in model number but still has eSIM, two IMEIs and dual sim dual standby capabilities. It lacks the second slim slot though (seemingly disabled by software), unlike the DS model.

What is the EXACT LETTER(S) /DIGIT(S) (?) after S22 ( SM-S901? ), S22+ ( SM-S906? ), S22 Ultra ( SM-S908? ) ?

SM-S90xB - International/Europe
SM-S90xU - USA
SM-S90xU1 - USA unlocked
SM-S90xW - Canada
SM-S90xN - Korea)
SM-S90x0 - China/HK
SM-S90xE - Asia/Africa

/DS - Dual SIM
x = 1 (S22), 6 (S22+), 8 (S22 Ultra)

I did not hear for Australian version.
As I see in Samsung Australia store it is E model, so you can change via SamFW FRP or Samkey to any E CSC (INS, XXV, THL). Without XID, it can be switched only via ODIN XID firmware.

It's the E version. I am fully aware that it can be changed to other E CSC (INS XXV XID whatever) using Samkey or SamFW or full Odin firmware. I just wonder if doing that will enable the SECOND PHYSICAL sim slot.

S22 Ultra I checked in JB HIFI Australia is SM-S908E, without DS (Vietnamese version is SM-S908E/DS with two physical SIMs, eSIM, two IMEIs)

Edit: One interesting detail, when I check firmware version using *#1234* in the same S908E device, it shows the model as S908E/DS as opposed to S908E in About phone. So I believe that it's still a DS model, just disabled via software.

I havne't bought the device yet so I cannot test.

It's the E version. I am fully aware that it can be changed to other OXM CSC (INS XXV XID whatever) using Samkey or SamFW. I just wonder if doing that will enable the SECOND PHYSICAL sim slot.

Except change to XID.

About second SIM - Just TRY. I'm not seeing single SIM S22 model if they have 2nd SIM pins on board. Or eSIM cgip inside (just inactivated).
The best option - it will be available hardware and working.
The unpleasant oltion - it will be shown in menus but not possible to used because of hardware lack.
Last option - it will still not available.

If you want - Share with us (others here) what happens and if CSC was changed and recording works 🙂

Perhaps your current firmware version is not available for EUX. Manually flashing the latest EUX firmware via Odin may solve the problem.

I have the latest EUX software AVF1, previously I had AVEH they're all part of EUX and I did flash the latest EUX from Odin.
Maybe this only happens with most recent phones s21fe, z fold 3 and s22 because these cases are happening with these phones and newer.

I'm in the US and have an S22, model SM-S901U1 with XAA CSC. Looking to change to another CSC such as INS that would hopefully support Samsung pay. Would I still get OTA updates?

Hello, I've the similar situation, I want to change to INS. Just wanted to know if OTA updates would work fine after this, if I change using SamFW? Thanks

INS CSC, depends of EXACT model (last letter):
SM-S90*E - yes, OTA works
SM-S90*B - no, OTA not works, but manual works via ODIN with any B firwaware (EUX for example)
not possible for other models SM-S90*U, SM-S90*U1, SM-S90*N, SM-S90*0 - can not be changes

SEK CSC
SM-S90*B - yes, OTA works
not possible for other SM-S90* models

SamFW yes free
Samkey yes paid

I've 908E so I should be good then. Also, as far as I've seen it is not resetting the device so the data should be intact however, I'd still take a backup.

Thanks alot for the detailed answer! Appreciate it.

What to do with S90*U1 if I want to change it ti INS?

What to do with S90*U1 if I want to change it ti INS?

As far as I know its not possible, you could end up bricking your device as well
