Today, we are starting with a tech-enabled itinerary planner capable of creating hyper-personalized day-to-day plans for travelers around the world. But we are not stopping here! Our overarching mission is to move from a world where travel planning is stressful & time-consuming, toward a new era where the travel planning process is easy, quick, & personalized.

We are continuing to refine our recommendation engine as we plan more trips to fuel The Baryl Studio🗺, our fully automated itinerary planner powered by AI (currently in development!). This will be achieved through an intelligent system that leverages collaborative filtering to make similar recommendations for similar travelers and is capable of finding the hard-to-find local gems in your destination. At scale, this becomes an extremely powerful tool that can guarantee excitement & memorable experiences for all travelers wherever they go.

@yuyang_zhang hey Yuyang and the Baryl #makers! Awesome idea and neat video! One thing came to my mind - maybe if you could offer, say, a 2-week free trial period, you would be able to get much more feedback. And once the users fall in love with your product, they'll be hooked and willing to pay :) I looked at it and thought: that's cool. But I need to pay before I am sure I really need it and it will be helpful..? Hmm...
Also, curious what countries Baryl covers? I mean, if I go to a less common place than North America or Europe, will I still be able to get recommendations from Baryl?
@margarita_s88 Hi Margarita, appreciate your support & feedback! Regarding your second question, Baryl covers anywhere in the world right now (including very niche destinations 😉), since we are in our tech-enabled phase and the back-end research & planning process is semi-manual. Once we launch our Baryl Studio (fully automated), we will start off the first few months with major cities in the US and than expand to other cities, countries, and soon the less common hot spot destinations around the world!
Also, you read our minds! I definitely agree that having a long usage period would bring more feedback, so for our next launch featuring our fully automated Baryl Studio, we will offer free trail periods for sure and we will offer an annual subscription option as well. This time around, we decided on the per trip model since we anticipate many people to have summer vacation plans in the near future (and many of our travelers also go on Baryl staycations near home!)

We started Baryl because we were frustrated with the state of travel planning. Nowadays, the expectations for travel experiences have skyrocketed while the tools to plan them have improved only marginally. Planning continues to be a messy, 10+ hour process that everybody does differently.
Now, after interviewing 300 travelers, serving 208 more, and building a community of 2,500 travelers growing 30% MoM, we’ve figured out how to make recommendations at an 80% match rate and save travelers upwards of 10 hours of planning per trip. We're trying to change the status quo by becoming the first line of defense for travel planning.
