YouTube's Picture-in-Picture mode starts rolling for all on iPhone and iPad

Last June, YouTube rolled out the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode to Premium subscribers on iPhone and iPad in the US, and now the company has announced that this feature is rolling out for all the devices running iOS and iPadOS 15.0 or higher globally.

YouTube Premium users across the globe will be able to play music and non-music content in PiP mode on their iPhones and iPads, meaning they can watch the videos in a small, floating window while simultaneously browsing other apps on their devices.

However, for non-Premium users, the PiP mode will be available for free only in the US and for non-music content only. So if you live in the States and want PiP mode for music content, you'll have to buy a YouTube Premium subscription.

YouTube, in its blog post, said PiP for iPhone and iPad is rolling out to all "over the next several days," but in its tweet, the company said it's "slowly rolling" to the users. Either way, it's safe to say it will be at least a couple of weeks before all eligible iPhone/iPad users get this feature on their devices.
