Apple Watch Pro Could Cost $1,000 as Apple Aims for the Ultimate Garmin Rival

New details about the upgraded Apple Watch surface

Apple will take the wraps off a new-generation Apple Watch in the fall of this year, and while the company has so far remained tight-lipped on everything related to this device, people familiar with the matter reveal some pretty intriguing tidbits.

This time, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg came up with new information on the more rugged Apple Watch model that could eventually hit the market as Apple Watch Pro.

In essence, this new device will be an upgraded Apple Watch whose role will be to position the smartwatch as a direct rival to Garmin products. At this point, Garmin is one of the leading companies in the activity tracking market, with the company’s latest products, namely the Fenix 7 and the Epix Gen2, also coming with upgraded smart capabilities.

Launching in September

Apple, therefore, wants to build a sport watch that would be specifically tailored for intense workouts, so if you want to go hiking with the new Apple Watch, the device will be totally prepared for the job.

This also means that the Cupertino-based tech giant is preparing a series of upgrades in other key areas, including the battery life. The Apple Watch Pro should therefore provide at least one full day per charge, while also coming with a new low-power mode to extend battery life when required.

The Apple Watch Pro will come with a more rugged case, and it’s believed Apple will install a larger display to make room for additional readings and complications on the screen.

At the end of the day, all these upgrades make the new Apple Watch Pro quite an advanced piece of technology. And in Apple’s world, new-generation technology isn’t by any means cheap, so the new Apple Watch Pro could end up carrying a price tag of no more, no less than $1,000.
