据 新华视点微信公号 7月9日消息，记者近日从北京理工大学重庆创新中心获悉， 北京理工大学将牵头在重庆研制深空探测雷达“中国复眼”，项目预期作用距离达到1.5亿公里。
这也是世界上探测距离最远的雷达。
中国工程院院士、北京理工大学校长龙腾介绍：分布式雷达项目的建设，将填补国内该项能力空白，满足近地小行星防御，空间态势感知等国家需求，并用于地球宜居性、行星形成等前沿领域研究。
据了解，该项目是“超大分布孔径雷达高分辨率深空域主动观测设施”二期项目。位于重庆的项目第一期“分布式雷达天体成像测量仪验证试验场”。
