Final Fantasy fans have had their dream come true this week as Square Enix revealed a bunch of new titles coming in the next few years. The most important, the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake is slated to arrive next Winter.

Dubbed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second story in the Final Fantasy VII remake series will be launched on PlayStation 5 first sometime in 2023, three years after the debut of the first part of the trilogy.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is being designed so that people can enjoy this game whether they know the original game or not. In fact, new players might even enjoy starting their FINAL FANTASY VII journey with FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH. Cloud and his friends embark on a new journey in this game, and I believe that the scenes that they witness after leaving Midgar will give players a fresh, new experience,” said Creative Director, Tetsuya Nomura.

During the same broadcast, Square Enix revealed another Final Fantasy project meant to make justice to one of the most underrated games in the franchise. Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a remaster of PlayStation Portable exclusive Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-, the 2007 cult classic action RPG and prequel to Final Fantasy VII.

The game follows the original story of Soldier 1st Class Zack Fair on his mission to find missing Soldier Genesis Rhapsodos, unraveling stories of Cloud, Sephiroth, Aeith, Tifa and more. The game is scheduled to release this Winter on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Last but not least, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will launch on June 17 on Steam with full Steam Deck compatibility. This is the enhanced and expanded version of the game, which includes an additional episode starring Yuffie, enhanced visual capture mode, Classic Mode difficulty and more.
