Paramount Plus: 4 new shows you won't want to miss this June

Updated 6 hours ago

Evil, Players, Yellowjackets, and even South Park are headed to Paramount+ this June

Three people stand next to each other in a hallway staring past the camera

Paramount+ is certainly one of the newer streaming services to hit the market, having just rebranded from CBS All Access less than a year ago. Since then, the budding streaming service has done pretty well for itself, amassing almost 33 million paid subscribers. This puts it well behind the likes of Netflix and Disney+, but dwarfs other newer options like Peacock. All that to say that Paramount+ is definitely worth checking out, particularly if you're a fan of shows and movies from CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, or Nickelodeon.

Even better, the streaming platform has committed to releasing new content, adding old favorites, and generally keeping its users engaged from month to month. Take a look at some new shows coming to Paramount+ in June, and check back for more updates on your favorite entertainment services.

Evil Season 3

Available: June 12

Genre: Supernatural Thriller

The psychologist-Catholic priest combo is back for a third season this June, with Katja Herbers (Westworld), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Aasift Mandvi (This Way Up) returning to deal with weird monsters, flippant townspeople, and the psychological madness of the first two seasons. Creators Michelle and Robert King insist that the show will dig even deeper into the chemistry between the two main characters, walking the line between comedy and thrills that the show has been so consistent with.

Players

Available: June 16

Genre: Comedy

Esports has grown to a billion-dollar industry, and that's more than enough to make fun of. Players is a fake docuseries from the creators of the much-loved American Vandal series, and looks to be just as hilarious. Following a fictional pro League of Legends esports team, the series looks to comedically shed a bit of light on the newly minted profession in the world of videos games. With veteran Cream Cheese and prodigy Organizm, will the team finally be able to win a championship? Who cares, because if this one is as good as American Vandal, sign us up.

Yellowjackets

Available: June 8

Genre: Thriller

Yes, this show original airs on Showtime; however, Paramount+ subscribers are in the luck, as you'll be able to get to check out the series on your platform without having to pay extra. Unfortunately, there is a catch: you'll only get to watch the first two episodes. Still, this psychological thriller about a girls high school soccer team that survived a crash landing in the remote northern wilderness and the Lord of the Flies-esque madness that ensued. Even if you can't watch the whole thing, getting a taste on Paramount+ is more than worth it, as this one is as messed up as it is compelling.

South Park: The Streaming Wars

Available: June 1

Genre: Comedy/Satire

It's technically a Paramount+ original movie, but the creators of South Park are counting it as the 318th episode of popular animated TV series, so we thought it would be ok to include South Park: The Streaming Wars on this list. The third movie from the South Park gang is poised to be as funny and irreverent as ever, putting the streaming wars between the various platforms in its satirical cross-hairs. Will Cartman say something terrible? Will Kenny die? You'll have to check it out on Paramount+ to find out!

Paramount+ Shows Streaming Now

Paramount+ is slowly but surely building out its library of must-watch shows, and everything coming out in June is just the tip of the iceberg. Check out the shows below that have already hit the streaming service and check back for more updates on Paramount+ throughout the year.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Genre: Sci-Fi

If you're at all interested in Paramount+, there's a good chance you're a Star Trek fan. The platform has invested big in the franchise, with a myriad of options like Picard and Lower Decks gaining some popularity. Strange New Worlds is the prequel to the original series that follows the USS Enterprise, along with Captain Christopher Pike, about a decade before the original Star Trek series took place, and includes appearances from characters like Spock, among others.

Joe Pickett

Genre: Drama

Joe Pickett is a game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, and he means business. No bribes and no corruption for this game warden, which is throwing a wrench in how this small, rural town does business. The show is based on the #1 bestselling book series by C.J. Box, and the first season aired on Spectrum TV. Luckily, the second season is on Paramount+ now.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars

Genre: Reality

RuPaul's Drag Race has been a staple of reality TV for years, and the All Stars cast of previous winners has made for amazingly entertaining TV. Contestants include Jaida Essence Hall, Jinkx Monsoon, Monét X Change, Raja, Shea Couleé, The Vivienne, Trinity the Tuck, and Yvie Oddly. Seriously, don't sashay away from this one, and check out the seventh season streaming now.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Untucked

Genre: Reality

You can't have RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars without getting a little untucked. That's right, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Untucked is back for its fourth season as the companion series to the original. This behind-the-scenes show airs right after RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, and spills all the tea with backstage glances and bonus footage galore.
