Walmart's own anti-Prime Day member's sale will have lots of opportunities to save money

The Walmart Plus Weekend sale - a four-day deals extravaganza set to take on Amazon's Prime Day - launches tomorrow (June 2nd). Running for three consecutive days through to Sunday (June 5th), it's likely to be one of the biggest online sales of the year at the retailer this side of Black Friday.

The Walmart Plus Weekend sale, according to the retailer, is set to offer huge discounts on everything from cheap grills, laptops, TVs, and appliances, to games consoles - yep, the retailer has confirmed there will be PS5 stock. Safe to say, it's a sale that will touch nearly every corner of the retailer's vast inventory. 

There is a catch, however. As with Amazon's own Prime Day, the Walmart Plus weekend sale will be open to Walmart Plus members only. It's a bit of a bummer but this is very much par for the course these days. Retailers love to use big sales events to drive up subscriptions for their premium membership programs.

Walmart Plus costs $12.95 per month - or $98 per year. There's also a free 30-day trial, but you need to be a paid member to get access to both the sale and the retailer's exclusive PS5 stock. Here's a quick overview of the service:

Walmart Plus membership gives you exclusive access to the Walmart Plus Weekend deals - with up to 40% off top tech, toys and more - and you'll get a $20 gift card too. Additional perks of the service include free delivery and shipping, cheaper fuel prices, same-day grocery delivery and more. 

As mentioned, on top of full access to the Walmart Plus Weekend sale's best deals, those who sign up to the Walmart Plus service during the event will get a welcome $20 gift card for their first purchase.

This is, of course, one of the many perks of Walmart Plus, which includes unlimited free delivery for groceries, savings of up to 10 cents per gallon of gas, and six months of Spotify Premium for free.

Today's best deals at Walmart

If you're interested, there are actually a few great deals left at Walmart today leftover from the retailer's Memorial Day sales. Most of these are open to the public so they're definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a bargain but aren't interested in signing up for Walmart Plus in time for the weekend.
