Apple、ワイヤレスヘッドフォン「AirPods」の発売延期

Appleが、10月に発売予定だったワイヤレスヘッドフォン「AirPods」の出荷を、延期すると発表した。出荷日や、出荷が遅れた原因についてはコメントしなかった。
Airpodsは、Appleが9月にiPhone7と併せて発表した。その時点ですでにiPhone7とAirpodsの出荷日は異なっていた。iPhone7には通常のヘッドホンを差し込むことができる特別なアダプターが同梱されていた。
Appleの広報担当者はBuzzFeedの取材に「AirPods発表後の反響は信じられないほど大きなものでした。準備が万全になる前に製品を出荷するつもりはありません。AirPodsがユーザーの手元に届けられるようになるまでには、もう少し時間が必要なのです」と語った。
Appleの新製品が、事前発表したリリース日に発売されないケースは珍しい。
