The company is hiring for overseas manufacturing campus planning specialists, overseas planning and infrastructure specialists, and overseas logistics project managers.

NIO is searching for roles related to auto-making in the U.S., suggesting the company intends to build a new plant in the country, Chinese news outlet Yicai reported on Friday.

According to the report, the Chinese EV maker is hiring for positions including overseas manufacturing campus planning specialists, body process specialists for overseas projects, overseas planning and infrastructure specialists, and overseas logistics project managers.

Candidates for manufacturing campus planning experts position must have been responsible for two or more comprehensive master plan projects, including at least one in the U.S., according to the job description.

The position also requires candidates to be familiar with and understand U.S. state policies, design codes and planning submission processes, and be familiar with U.S. process planning and master plan principles.

The Chinese electric car maker currently has an autonomous driving research and development center and a software development team in San Jose, California. It is also recruiting planning and infrastructure specialists in the city.

Since 2021, NIO has accelerated its global expansion plan, making its first stop in the Norwegian market. By 2025, it plans to offer products and services in 25 countries and regions, including the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.

Currently, NIO's cars are manufactured in the JAC-NIO Advanced Manufacturing Base in Hefei, Anhui province, and the company's second facility is under development at NeoPark in the central Chinese city.
