You can now enjoy a live music experience from your favorite artists on your phone. Apple has unveiled Apple Music Live, a concert series that brings live performances from music artists, from their events to your ears, in the comfort of your home, in real-time.

So, what is Apple Music Live, and how does it work? Continue reading to find out.

Apple Launches Apple Music Live

Apple has launched Apple Music Live, a concert series that lets you listen to live musical performances from artists right from your phone.

Apple announced the feature on a Twitter post on May 17, 2022, adding that singer Harry Styles would be the first artist to be featured with a performance from New York on Friday, May 20, 2022. Styles will be premiering his third album, Harry’s House, which will be released on the day of the concert.

This wouldn’t be Apple’s first shot at live-streamed music events. Remember the iTunes Festival, also known as Apple Music Festival? The free event lasted for almost 10 years before Apple hit the brakes on it, and fans were also able to live stream the festival, as with Apple Music Live.

How Apple Music Live Works

The idea is that Apple collaborates with different music artists to give a live, in-person performance, which is then live streamed on Apple Music for fans and subscribers to enjoy.

The featured artist will have a dedicated Apple Music Live page you can access from your Apple Music app and stream the artist's performance. The page also features a variety of content around the artist to promote their upcoming event.

For instance, Harry Styles' page features an interview in which he chats about the making of his album, among other things. You can also find the artist’s music catalog to help gear up for the concert, as well as any playlists in which their music is featured.

Everyone with an Apple Music subscription will be able to tune in and watch the concert live from their devices at no extra cost. Apple hasn't confirmed if the artist's page or live stream will be available indefinitely. However, it will replay the live stream in the days following the event.

Apple Music Live will be an ongoing series available on Apple Music, but, at the time of this writing, Apple hasn't confirmed what other artists will be featured in the future.

If you're interested in live concerts, this new feature might make an Apple Music subscription worth the price of $10/month. But if you're still unsure, you can try the music streaming service at no cost with an Apple Music free trial through Shazam.

Apple Music Is Adding Value to Its Subscriptions

Apple Music isn't free, so you want to be confident that you're getting your money's worth as a subscriber. Each time Apple Music adds new features to its platform, it adds value for paying customers.

Apple Music Live is a breath of fresh air, giving those who aren't able to make it to see their favorite artists perform live a chance to enjoy their performances at no extra cost in the comfort of their own homes.
