Introduction.

Over the years, various methods and strategies of making money online have been introduced; among all the most exciting and quicker ways of making money for any online beginner is Pay-Per-click advertising platforms like Google Adsense.

I am not justifying pay-per-click advertising as the best way of making money online.

Every blogger should have many ways of making money via their platform, so I recommend reading the article below on starting a blog and Affiliate marketing.

Google Adsense has become the primary source of income for so many bloggers and has accounted for over 10 billion dollars in settlement each year.

What is Google Adsense?

Google AdSense is a program created by Google through which website publishers in the Google Network of content sites serve text, images, video, or interactive media advertisements targeted to the site content and audience. As a result, they can generate revenue for the publishers on either a per-click or per-impression basis.

Why You Should Use Google Adsense.

Here are the reasons you should use Google Adsense as a blogger. And why I used it for not only this blog when I first started advertising but on many other blogs as well.

1. To make money.

Making money as a newbie blogger can be difficult for so many reasons. But with the Google Adsense program, you can start earning from the first day you start blogging.

For example, I got my Google Adsense just after two weeks of creating my blog, and I started earning on the first day of blogging. This can only be possible with the use of Adsense.

So many top Seo and tech experts do not recommend using Google Adsense due to unknown reasons known to them. Still, in my opinion, I will always recommend the use of the Google Adsense program anytime.

2. Global monetisation.

The use of the Google Adsense platform allows you to monetise your platform globally.

The unique factor about the Google Adsense platform is that it sells the ad space on your websites to advertisers globally.

3. Analytics.

Google Adsense is built with a unique platform that accurately tracks conversions, page views, and impressions.

The inbuilt Adsense Analytics is unique and makes it easier to track accurate data and information.

4. Very few restrictions.

Unlike any other Pay-Per-click advertising, they all come with hardcore restrictions that allow only very few high websites with very high organic traffic. This isn’t good for newbie bloggers who might not get enough traffic.

5. Easy To Start.

Also, unlike other pay-per-click advertising platforms. Google Adsense is straightforward and quick to set up and begin. All you need is a Google account and a new website or blog.

6. Owned By Google.

As the name implies, Google Adsense is owned by Google, Inc. Google Adsense has been currently reported to be paying over $10 Billion to its publishers yearly.

This has added more credibility to the platform and has made it the most trusted online advertising platform.

Pros and Cons of Making Money With Google AdSense.

The Google AdSense program has several significant advantages, including:

1. It’s free to join; all you need is a Google account, which most of us already own. If you own a Gmail account, you automatically own an Adsense account, though you still have put it to use.

2. Eligibility requirements are accessible. For example, you can monetise your website or blog even when it is still new; a new website/blog less than two weeks old can get Google Adsense approval; I got mine after one week of creating it.

3. Google Adsense has the friendliest payment option available globally, and it pays monthly by direct deposit if you meet the $100 threshold to over 200 countries of the world. So you are making it widely acceptable.

4. Google Adsense makes it possible to monetise more than one website at a goal, making it easier to leverage and make more money; you can run ads on several websites from one AdSense account.

5. Blogger and YouTube are official services provided by Google and can be monetised using Google Adsense, also owned by Google. You can easily add it to your Blogger and YouTube accounts and begin making money right away, although, with YouTube, you’ll need to have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time to run AdSense on your videos.

Google Adsense has its drawbacks as well and some of which include;

1. Google can terminate your account instantly, and it’s not very forgiving if you break the rules. So, just before you start monetising your website with Google Adsense, you need to understand the rules of Adsense to avoid getting banned critically.

2. Getting a Google Adsense account does not guarantee instant wealth, so you need all forms of online income; you need the traffic to make money. One of the best forms of Traffic that I recommend is Search engine optimisation.

I wrote a comprehensive guide on how to get started with SEO; click the link below.

3. With Google Adsense, you make money in two ways: when people click on an AdSense ad and make money when people visit your website, which is called Impressions or CPM(Cost Per Mile).

Google Adsense has a fixed cost of a thousand impressions landing on your webpage, so for one thousand visitors on your blog, you get paid for it, though it may be small.

4. Google Adsense is prefered because a major tech giant backs it; this does not make it the highest paying platform; in terms of payment, another advertising platform tends to do well than Google Adsense.

I will show you a few of them; stick to the end.

Ad networks, especially AdSense, are great options because you can join as a new blogger or website owner, and they are easy to use.

There are many ways to earn income from a website or blog. But most of these other requirements are that you have significant traffic before you even begin to make money.

This is where AdSense is a good beginning monetisation option. You don’t have to create anything; you can join the day you start your blog or website, it’s free, and it’s easy to add the ad code to your website.

Getting started with Google Adsense is very easy; all you need to get started with Google Adsense is very easy and affordable.

As juicy as Google Adsense might sound, so many people still find it hard to get through this platform as many of them do not get approved for over six months and more; some even get banned in the process.

How Google Adsense Calculates Earnings

Google Adsense is one the highest paying publisher network out there. Even the fact that it is backed by a highly reputable internet such as Google makes it a legit procedure for making money online.

Google Adsense Publishers are paid based on two criteria. And they are;

1. Cost-per-click (CPC).

Cost-per-click is simply a revenue criterion in which individual publishers are paid based on how many Ad clicks they can generate through their website.

This earning is split on a 68% and 32% basis in which publishers are paid 68% of what the advertisers staked on the ad placed on the network.

Let says, for example, an advertiser on Google agrees to pay a whooping 1$ per every click generated throughout his campaign period; 0.68$ is given to the advertiser, while Google holds the rest.

2. Cost-Per-mile (CPM).

Cost-Per-Mile is the second earning criteria used by the Google Adsense network to pay its publishers.

Cost-Per-mile means, Cost-per, one thousand impressions generated from a website that has Google Adsense ads on its website.

This criterion allows you to get paid for every website 1,000 page views generated from your website.

So even if your website does not generate enough clicks, you still have an edge when your website displays Google Ads and creates traffic.

Mind you, pay-per-mile is very low compared to pay-per-click, so you should make sure that your gun for clicks and not rely only on impressions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Google Adsense.

Over the few years, so many publishers have recorded tremendous success with Google Adsense, while many have ended their journey.

So many new publishers have heard about the opportunities that Google Adsense has to offer its publishers, which has caused them to ask so many questions.

Google literarily owns the internet and nothing less; anything coming from a giant like this cannot be a scam; you might have heard so many top bloggers play down Google Adsense and elevate ads platforms like Mediavine; to be honest, they are right in their understanding, most of these bloggers are based in the US where everything is literarily set up without hassle, but for bloggers outside the US, most of all in underdeveloped nations in Africa, Google Adsense is worth fighting for, you can start making money right from the first day with little or no traffic.
