本周一媒体广泛报道称 Google Maps 上俄罗斯军事设施的卫星图片分辨率达到了 0.5 米。民用高分辨率卫星照片对开源情报分析人士而言非常有价值，尽管 0.5 米的分辨率可能远低于美国军方正在使用的军用侦察卫星。乌克兰军方账号认为 Google 停止了俄罗斯敏感地点卫星图片的模糊处理。但 Google 发言人之后否认了这一说法，称他们并没有改变俄罗斯卫星图片的模糊度。也就是说这些卫星照片以前就是如此，没有经过特别处理。Google 只对少数敏感地点进行过模糊处理。
