微软已经一段时间没有披露 Windows 11 的普及率数据了，在发布半年之后，来自不同来源的数据都显示其普及率远逊于 Windows 10 同期水平。以最大的 PC 游戏平台 Steam 为例：Windows 10 发布半年之后普及率达到了 31%，而 Windows 11 只有 17%，Steam 统计的四分之三的计算机仍然运行 Windows 10。 Windows 11 硬件需求过高是影响它普及率的一个重要因素，许多旧电脑都无法升级到新系统，因此它的后续增长依赖于新计算机的采购。另一个重要因素是 Windows 10 取代的是不怎么受欢迎的 Windows 8 和 Windows 8.1，而 Windows 11 所取代的 Windows 10 很多用户都是相当满意的。
