The Cost of Knowledge

Inspired by Timothy Gower's blog post and the subsequent boycott page:

thecostofknowledge.com/ as described in The Chronicle of Higher Ed article, Elsevier Publishing Boycott Gathers Steam Among Academics via a tweet from @clintlalonde

Thank you so much for this wonderful drawing, and for making it available to re-use! We included it in our January e-news (www.arl.org/news/enews/enews-jan2012.shtml#elsevier).

ARL My pleasure, Kaylyn (and ARL); I'm pleased you were able to use it.

Did your newsletter also go out via email? The bulk of the visits seem to be from 'unknown sources' but seem to coincide with your newsletter publish date.

Not a big deal, I'm just curious :)

Stephen Downes posted a link to it as well, so it is probably circulating via social media. You are right of course, the distributor of information we collectively create should have far less power over how we access that information after.

And it is prominently displayed here: blog.thecostofknowledge.com/

Hi Giulia, I just logged into Flickr and saw your reply to my comment from a month ago! Guess I need to change my Flickr account settings so I receive alerts. :) Anyway, yes, we send out our newsletter by email as well as posting links to it on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and our homepage.

Just added this to a post on publishing within the English Learning sector. Thanks so much for the share, Giulia! www.edulang.com/blog/cost-of-knowledge/ Cheers, Brad
