New Relic Announces Partnership With Postman on API Analytics Integration

Apr 06, 2022
By Kevin Sundstrom, ProgrammableWeb Staff

New Relic, a cloud-based performance monitoring company, has announced a new two-way Integration with Postman that will provide developers with API analytics covering both performance and functionality. This functionality will be available to New Relic customers on a usage-based pricing model.

New Relic notes that the proliferation of API-first development is pushing API monitoring and management to the top of corporate priority lists. Seeing this trend, the company was looking for ways to provide its customers with a more holistic view API health. Postman provides the New Relic with valuable API infrastructure metrics that help fill out this picture.

Postman’s Co-founder, Abhijit Kane, had this to say about the integration:

“Historically, monitoring and infrastructure metrics have lived downstream from API development teams, but with the New Relic integration, teams can check real-time performance, work more quickly to correct errors, and ensure increased quality of their APIs.”

Additionally, Peter Pezaris, New Relic SVP, Strategy and User Experience, spoke to the value of offering this solution as a two-way integration:

“We’re excited to partner with Postman to bring API observability data to developers and engineers where they already spend their time — whether they are DevOps engineers monitoring their Stack in New Relic or API developers seeking real-time application performance data in the context of their API deployments in Postman.”
