Firefox 的 UI/UX 歷史
在 Hacker News 首頁上看到「Firefox UI/UX History (github.com/black7375)」這篇，整理了 Firefox 的 UI/UX 歷史，裡面也試著分析各個不同版本的優缺點。
話說看到這個最早的版本的 screenshot 讓人懷念 (還叫做 Phoenix 的版本)：
裡面也提到了一些 fork，像是「Early (v1 ~ v3)」這個 UI 版本的 fork 還可以在 SeaMonkey 看到。
到了「Classic (v4, 2011.3)」這個版本，目前還有在維護的 fork 則是 Pale Moon，不過核心的部份沒有跟上，很多網站的新功能是沒辦法用的。
接著是「Australis (v29, 2014.04)」這個版本，目前已經沒有在維護的 fork 了，2021 年年底 Basilisk 宣佈停止維護。
然後是「Photon (v57, 2017.11)」這個版本，目前還有在維護的 fork 是 Waterfox 的 G3 系列。
目前最新的一個是「Proton (v89, 2021.06)」這個版本。

受到 SlickSpeed 的刺激，這一版的 jQuery 大幅改善 CSS Selector 的速度，jQuery 官方的測試結果比 1.1.2 快了 800% (也是以 SlickSpeed 測試)：jQuery 1.1.3: 800%+ Faster, still 20KB。 不過這個版本在 mailing list 看得出來目前還很不穩定，很多人抱怨在非主流的 browser 上會有問題 (主要是 Opera 與 Safari，以及 Konqueror)，甚至有 Linux 上的使用者抱怨 Firefox 回報 SlickSpeed 測試全部都是 return error。 接下來的 1.1.4 版將會是 1.1 系列的最後一個版本，之後就是 1.2 了...

Tails 裡的注音輸入法終於修好了...
Tails 是一個獨立的 Debian 作業系統，強調匿名性，裡面有很多環境的預設值是為了避免 IP 位置以及其他資訊洩漏而設計。另外因為是獨立完整的作業系統，可以找台電腦用 USB 開機直接跑起來，避免 OS 被埋木馬的問題 (當然如果硬體有問題的話還是沒辦法)。 大多數人用 Tails 的人應該還是拿來跑 Tor Browser，不過我在用的時候發現注音輸入法有問題 (大約三年前？)，就跑去開了一張 bug ticket 回報：「Bopomofo input for Chinese is not working」，從裡面的討論可以看到中間有 ping 我，但是我忘記回應了... 直到最近動了起來剛好有看到，就抓了 snapshot ISO 幫忙測了一下，畢竟沒幾個用注音的人在上面可以確認 :o 目前看起來輸入法本身的問題修差不多了，而且有機會在下個版本看到 (或是下下個版本，要看會不會進這次的 merge window)。 想要測試的人，除了要抓這個版本的 snapshot ISO 外 (在 bug ticket 裡有連結)，在 Tails 開機時，要記得要在 Language 的地方選擇台灣： 開進去後就可以看到注音輸入法了，用…

用 ap 版本的 vim-css-color
之前是在高見龍的文章「爽爽快快學Vim(3) - Vim Plugins」裡看到這個 plugin，高見龍的文章所附上的連結就已經是 ap 版了，不過前幾天把 vim 的套件管理系統換成 Vundle 後 (參考「從 pathogen.vim 換成 Vundle...」這篇)，我是用 Google 把之前裝過的套件一個一個找回來，就裝到 skammer 的版本了。 skammer 的版本問題在「Very slow.」可以看到，懶的看原因的人可以直接看 comment 裡 ap 給的 fork。 用 Vundle 的人先改掉 .vimrc 的內容，然後重新啟動 vim 後跑 :BundleClean 與 :BundleInstall 就會裝新版了。
