Book review: The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy

Published: 2022.03.27 | 1 minutes read

Another day, another book review. I recently can’t stop listening to audiobooks and doing little DIY things around the house. So after reading “The Effective Executive” by Peter F. Drucker I decided to pick up another classic equally frequently recommended within productivity-oriented circles, “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy.

“The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy

The title speaks for itself. This book is about introducing minor changes to your life that, compounded after a while, produce a significant impact. It is also about bad habits or duties that we like to neglect and their long-term effect on our lives. This book is an excellent read for everyone seeking a motivational kick to make a change. It doesn’t matter if your goal is to improve your relationship, financial situation or level of your fitness.

What’s easy to do, is also easy not to do.

The author’s regime sometimes goes too far to my taste. I don’t want to schedule relationship reviews with my partner weekly or judge people I surround with by their bank account balance. I love the idea of documenting things that I am grateful for every day tho. Some of the habit-forming practices recommended by this book are so good.

Read it, good one 📕

Hi The avif images have disappeared from pawelgrzybek.com in 2022! Only jpg and webp now. Maybe it's because webp is OK for Chromium/Mozilla and recent Safari? Everybody else can use jpg. The avif small file size is good, but not worth the effort. Is that why?

O wow! Good eye! Yes, that's true, and it is purely because of my laziness. Since I upgraded to the new MacBook Pro with M1, I struggled to use AVIF binary. I will revisit old images when I have a moment to spare. For most use cases, WebP is just fine, but ideally, I want to have a set of jpg/png, WebP and AVIF for every single picture on this website. Thanks for visiting Ron 🙇‍♂️
