Mozilla launches MDN Plus with tiered subscription model costing up to $10

The MDN logo

Mozilla has announced a new premium subscription service called MDN Plus which expands its existing MDN Web Docs to offer a more personalised experience for those willing to pay. Users will be able to choose whether to remain on the free tier, the $5 tier, or the $10 tier. With a paid membership, you can save collections of MDN pages, turn on notifications to page changes, and save MDN offline so you can use it on the go.

On the $5 tier, you will get access to the features mentioned above and on the $10 tier, you will get early access to new features that Mozilla is working on plus the opportunity to chat with some of the MDN developers which would allow you to pass on suggestions for the platform more easily. If you don’t wish to pay any money, you can continue using MDN as you did before.

The new service is available in the United States and Canada from today and in the coming months, Mozilla will expand the service to France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Ireland, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Hopefully, Mozilla will be able to get enough subscribers to help it become a more financially stable firm that doesn’t rely entirely on Google Search revenues.
