网线外皮上的标识来鉴别网线：用手捻一下网线的外皮，软绵绵的好像有点空心的网线质量就比较差。正规品牌的网线外皮上都有线网的种类标识以及厂家的商标，例如CAT5标识是表示该网线是五类线，CAT6标识就代表网线是六类线。
