Lucky shopper receives Mac Studio days early

Lucky shopper receives Mac Studio days early Turns out not everyone has to wait until Friday to receive a Mac Studio.

The Mac Studio is scheduled to start reaching customers on March 18. But a fortunate Frenchman got his Tuesday, three days early!

Seems a store in France missed the note from Apple about not shipping until later in the week.

Mac Studio arrived today!

Simon bragged to the French website Mac4Ever that he’d already received the Mac Studio he’d preordered. And he shared a picture of the packaging to prove it. The site declined to name the retailer who’d made the error, though.

But everyone else has to wait until March 18 for the speedy new Mac desktop. Unless you procrastinated about ordering, that is, in which case you won’t see a delivery until April.

Early deliveries of Apple devices are rare but not unheard of. Back in 2011, some German customers got their iPhone 4Ses three days before they were supposed to, for example.

More about Apple’s newest desktop

The Mac Studio is Apple’s first new desktop line in many years. It features the M1 Ultra, the fastest processor Apple has ever made. Or it can be configured with an M1 Max instead.

The chassis is bigger than a Mac mini but smaller than a Mac Pro. There’s room for a wealth of ports, including six Thunderbolt 4/USB-C ones, a pair of USB-A ports, HDMI, Ethernet and more.

Pricing for the Mac Studio starts at $1,999 with the M1 Max chip. But have Apple build in the M1 Ultra and the cost jumps to at least $3,999.
