Details

(Whiteboard: [fidefe-MR1-2022])

As a Netflix subscriber, I want to watch videos in Picture-in-Picture with the subtitles track I have selected in the Netflix interface.

Acceptance Criteria

  1. Subtitles or close captions are displayed in PiP in the language user has selected in the Netflix interface.

  2. The only way to turn subtitles on and off is outside of Picture-in-Picture, on Netflix itself.

  3. The feature can be held behind a pref to facilitate a holdback study for MR1 2022.

  4. Vertical subtitles that Netflix supports for some Japanese content are not displayed in PiP.
