Think and Grow Right, by Napoleon Hill, is highly recommended by many of the financial/investment blogs I read, so I decided it was time to take the plunge. The only way I can define my experience is this – the book is good, but it is not the book I was expecting. The book deals mostly with the mindset that is needed to achieve wealth. I agree with most of what is written in it but there is too much pseudo-scientific stuff in the middle which I dislike and creates automatic rejection in me. But after pushing this to the side there are good things to learn from the book.
I was expecting something more in the lines of A Random Walk Down Wall Street or The Little Book That Beats the Market, so I was kind of disappointed. And that is another good lesson for life – when you have expectations of something and reality turns out differently, you can either be disappointed or make the best out of the result.
