新冠的 Omicron 变种正在世界各地快速传播，主要疫苗开发商正针对 Omicron 变种开发相对应的加强版疫苗。根据发表在预印本平台 biorxiv 上的一项研究， Moderna 的 Omicron 加强版疫苗在猴子动物实验中表现不佳，加强版疫苗并不比现有疫苗的加强针能更好的预防 Omicron 变种。这一动物实验只涉及八只猴子，人体实验目前正在进行之中。NIH 的研究人员报告，他们没有观察到 Omicron 加强版疫苗刺激了任何 Omicron 特异的细胞反应。
