Season’s greetings, as yet another year comes to an end technology keeps evolving. This blog post will cover additional enhancements done to MDG-F GL account in S/4 HANA 2021.

INTRODUCTION

With MDG 9.2 on S/4 HANA 1809 GL account data model was aligned with S/4 HANA with integrated maintenance of cost element. I have covered the conversion stepsin detail in the below blog post.

With S/4 HANA 2021 SAP has added a new attribute called ‘GL account subtype’ in the data model which provides further ease of data maintenance and align with S/4HANA 2020 release function of GL accounts.

MAIN CONTENT

In the entity ACCOUNT a new attribute S4ACCSUBTY is added which will have the following values.

1. Bank reconciliation account
2. Bank subaccount
3. Petty Cash
   

A new value is also added to the S4ACCTYP with value ‘C’ which is cash account.

Only for S4ACCTYP  Cash account the GL account subtype field will give the values mentioned above.

In S/4 HANA 2020 the GL account maintenance in backend transaction was provided with thisadditional feature of Cash accounts which greatly simplified the payment process and cash reporting

CONCLUSION

With this feature MDG-F for GL accounts is once agained relaigned with S/4 HANA which provides customer more value add to use MDG as a single source of truth for all their master data needs.
