A concept artist took the rumors about an upcoming Apple augmented reality and virtual reality headset and turned them into a possible design for a product that could be unveiled in 2022.

This model is undeniably bulky, but but less so than rival Oculus, Valve and Sony versions.

Ian Zelbo built a reputation designing top-quality Apple concept devices, and his latest project is View. This is “based solely on the drawings by The Information,” according to Zelbo.

He’s referring to a leak from February 2021 for an AR/VR headset that includes a curved visor attached to the face via mesh materials, as well as switchable headbands.

A later report from reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the device will have a pair of 4K micro-OLED displays and a chip on par with an M1 Mac in processing performance. Many types of sensors will detect the wearer’s motions.

This device could drop in late 2022, though an announcement might come earlier in the year. The cost will be as much as $3,000, according to The Information.
