KeePassX 宣佈不再維護了
在 Daily Lobsters 上看到 KeePassX 宣佈不再繼續維護了：「Development stopped」，在 Lobsters 上的討論也可以翻翻：「KeePassX development stopped」。
KeePassX 與 KeePassXC 都是 open source 版本的 password manager，單檔的設計可以配合很多不同的服務同步，自己架 Syncthing 或是用 Dropbox 之類的同步都是可行的，看對安全性的要求如何。
KeePassX 上次的更新是 2016 年推出的 2.0.3，已經超過五年沒有更新了。官方建議的替代方案是 KeePassXC：
KeePassX is no longer actively maintained.
You might want to switch to KeePassXC which is based on KeePassX.
算是接棒交接出去...

MySQL UDF (User-defined function) 與 memcached
以往 MySQL + memcached 的作法是由 application 端「拉」資料後再塞到 memcached 上，這會產生幾個問題： 資料不同步：MySQL 上的資料更新了，但 memcached 裡的 cache 因為還沒過期而尚未更新。 第一次的 Race Condition：同時有很多 client 向 memcached 要一份目前還不存在的 cache，這時候這些 client 都會跑到 MySQL 要資料再放一份到 memcached 上。 這兩個問題都有在 MySQL UDF + memcached 出來之前都有解法：前者可以在更新 MySQL 時順便更新 memcached 裡的資料；後者可以靠 memcached lock 的技巧避免突然有大量 Query 造成後端 MySQL 負荷過重。這兩個方法需要 application (client) 配合，不是很完美，但在實際應用上還算堪用。(一個很簡單的場景：如果公司內同時使用 PHP…

Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC) 節點離開太久後的惡搞法
在 Percona 的「How To Recover Percona XtraDB Cluster 5.7 Node Without SST」這邊看到的技巧，不過只能用在 5.7 版，不能用在 8.0 版。我猜這個方法也可以用在其他跑 Galera Cluster 的資料庫上... 維護一組 Percona XtraDB Cluster 時一個常見的問題是，當節點離線太久後有機會無法用 IST (Incremental State Transfer) 跟回來，也就是只要把先前還沒有同步的部份更新進資料庫的方法，這時候就會需要用 SST (State Snapshot Transfer)，變成抓整個 full copy。 作者提出來的方法是基於 IST 的大小通常比較小，但 binlog 通常都留蠻久的，所以可以利用 binlog 來幫 IST。 方法是先把 Galara Cluster 關掉，用 MySQL 傳統的 replication…
