OverviewApplication

Infrastructure engineering at Metawork is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and growing build and testing systems for the Metawork team, as well as advising on customers’ local Metawork instances. This role is central to what we do at Metawork: Fast and seamless development of our custom runtimes is the lifeblood of the company’s execution.

Given the nature of our work is to question everything about software development, we often encounter the limits of existing abstractions in everything from build systems to language runtime internals and either modify or replace them. Infrastructure engineering is developing a best-in-class build matrix to enable engineering to move quickly and successfully through uncharted waters. This mode of working can be jarring at first for even seasoned infra experts, so we tend to look for an innate sense of curiosity, humility, and drive to understand systems as a whole when evaluating candidates for this role.

Here are some samples of recent infrastructure engineering work:

  • Establish and maintain CI pipeline with ongoing performance improvements

  • Design and operate a cross-platform bazel remote build cluster

  • Configure integrations between AWS, Google Apps, Grafana, and other third party tools

  • Establish process for and automate developer and cloud machine provisioning

Compensation

Salary range for the Infrastructure Engineer role: $158,850 - $222,390 USD

Equity range for the Infrastructure Engineer role: 0.17% - 0.60%
