Microsoft has released new updates for Windows 10 PCs
Microsoft has just released a new batch of cumulative updates for Windows 10 devices as part of the November 2021 Patch Tuesday cycle.
And given these updates go live on Patch Tuesday, they are also focused specifically on security improvements, though as usual, there’s a chance Microsoft has also included a series of non-security fixes that aren’t mentioned in the official changelog.
The new updates that are available right now on Windows 10 are the following:
- Windows 10 version 1507 — KB5007207 (OS Build 10240.19119)
- Windows 10 version 1607 — KB5007192 (OS Build 14393.4770)
- Windows 10 version 1703 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1709 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1803 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1809 — KB5007206 (OS Build 17763.2300)
- Windows 10 version 1903 — EOS
- Windows 10 version 1909 — KB5007189 (OS Build 18362.1916)
- Windows 10 version 2004, 20H2 and 21H1 — KB5007186 (OS Builds 19041.1348, 19042.1348, and 19043.1348)
What’s new in these updates?
Worth knowing is that all these new cumulative updates are supposed to resolve a security glitch affecting all versions of Windows 10.
“Addresses an issue in which certain apps might have unexpected results when rendering some user interface elements or when drawing within the app. You might encounter this issue with apps that use GDI+ and set a zero (0) width pen object on displays with high dots per inch (DPI) or resolution, or if the app is using scaling,” Microsoft explains.
As far as the known issues are concerned, there no new ones, and this is clearly good news. On the other hand, the previously acknowledged issues are still there, so make sure you check them out if you’re struggling with any of these updates.
Microsoft has also released a new set of servicing stack updates that increase the versions to 19041.1310, 19042.1310, and 19043.1310, obviously depending on what Windows 10 release you’re currently running on your device.
