Apple has released the first RC version of iOS 15.2, therefore signaling that the debut of the stable build for production iPhones is just around the corner.

The RC can now be downloaded by developers, and while Apple hasn’t provided an ETA as to when iOS 15.2 could go live for everybody, there’s now a good chance it happens next week.

What’s new in iOS 15.2

Just as expected, iOS 15.2 is a massive release, and it comes with substantial improvements and new features.

One of the most notable is the App Privacy Report, which provides users with additional information on how the apps running on their iPhones are accessing their data according to the granted permissions.

“App Privacy Report in Settings lets you see how often apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, contacts and more during the last seven days, as well as their network activity,” the Cupertino-based tech giant explains.

Furthermore, Apple says the new iOS update also introduces the highly anticipated Apple Music Voice Plan, which allows users to access music with the help of the digital assistant pre-loaded on their iPhones.

“Apple Music Voice Plan is a new subscription tier that gives you access to all songs, playlists, and stations in Apple Music using Siri. Just Ask Siri suggests music based on your listening history and likes or dislikes. Play it Again lets you access a list of your recently played music,” Apple explains.

There are also several bug fixes, including for video streaming apps failing to load content on iPhone 13 and calendar events appearing on the wrong day for Microsoft Exchange users.

Apple says that beginning with this update, Find My can locate iPhones for a maximum of 5 hours when the device enters the Power Reserve mode.
