What pisses designers off

People say things that piss off designers. Here’s a few that have pissed me off in the past.

“Could you maybe hide the log out button?”

“We don’t need to talk to our customers, as we know what they need.”

“You’ll need to know HTML and CSS for this design role.”

“It’ll just take an hour or two. There's not much design needed.”

“Just make it pretty, please.”

“Technically we can’t do that.”

“Can you do the copy for that?”

“We’ll need an updated portfolio.”

“The interview process normally has four or five stages.”

Looking at a Linkedin post that asks which UX is the best.

“Interview question: “What are your weaknesses?”

“Yeah, my friend’s a graphic designer as well.”

“We’ll be doing a whiteboard test as part of the interview.”

“Research is a waste of money.”

“We don’t have time to get back to that. (new shiny stuff to do I’m afraid).”

“I don’t really like that, not sure why, just don’t like it.”

“We’ll put it in the backlog.”

“Design’s not too important.”

“We need to do our KPI’s.”

“One customer said she didn’t like this. We need to change it.”

“We really need all the designs by tomorrow.”

“We only use Axure here.”

“We just need the UX.”

“Yes, we work with an agile methodology here. We’ll probably not be able to get back to that, so let’s get it rights the first time.”

“No but seriously, we really want you to hide the log out button.”
