I've realized that I don't have enough iq to do competitive programming. I was doing it for fun but it's not fun anymore cause I can't improve.

If you don't have fun doing it, then it is a waste of your time. This is true for almost everything.

Hello, I'm new to CP and aspire to become candidate master. May I know where did you practice problems from and learn common algorithms?
-
I mostly practice on codeforces, recently started using AtCoder and did some USACO problems on-and-off. I guess you can find out about common algorithms through practice, and then find resources for them on CP-Algorithms or USACO Guide.
I think it is really important to upsolve problems if you want to get better! Good luck :)

Hi Naman, Just want to know how you filter problems on codeforces . Is you use any specific ladder or any sheet . I am just starting out with codeforces to practice .
-
Well, when I did serious practice, I just used to set the rating filter on the problemset between some range, and used to solve problems of that difficulty until I felt a little comfortable in that range, which is when I bumped it up. I think I started with 1600-1800 and went up to 1900-2200,which is the range I still find difficult.

You have solved just a single problem. I think you should also solve the second one and then decide what to do.

Saying that you just don't have enough IQ to succeed at CP is a very toxic mentality and it will only block your growth. In mind sports like this it is very natural to associate an inherent incapacity with one's performance, it is important to remember that any challenging situation can be overcomed with enough practice.
Having said that, I will suggest that, if you don't find joy in solving CP problems and only compete for the thrill of winning, you quit.
Otherwise, keep practicing and stay strong!!!
I suggest you watch this video by galen_colin
you have solved only one problem and given only one contest in your life and then you are deciding!!!!First job in your life should be to recover from anxiety and low self-esteem.Work on that
If you don't like it, of course.
But pratice is more important than IQ! I believe that everybody, including you, can! If you still like it!

you have done so much of it!! don't do more problems of CP. It is demotivating all of us.

You did just one problem till now, I think give it a try for more 3-4 months and be regular, then see are you interested int CP or not then decide.

Let me tell you one thing my friend. Never give up!! Yeah that's it. (And, now I am gonna brag about myself) Today, I was trying a 2300 rated question, couldn't figure out how to solve, not even from editorial, did I gave up, NO! I made post regarding asking help for that question. Kept thinking about solution for almost 4-5 hours, couldn't figure out anything. But, did I gave up after that, STILL NO!! I picked easier but still tough 2100 rated question, kept trying for almost 3 hours, and Finally GOT IT!! Yeah, today, It was harsh day, but In the end, I was able to solve one really tough question for my level. (and yeah, I am still trying to figure out 2300 rated question) NEVER GIVE UP, BROTHER, WE ARE ALREADY SMART, JUST WORK HARDER.

You can't improve in just 7 weeks.

The thing is, life is uncertain. If you don't have social security, no amount of words are going to motivate you to pursue something, only for the sake of it. You'll always associate money/value to any task that you do, because time is important, and life is uncertain.
So now coming to your question, you said you can't improve. That means you are not allocating a good amount of time to solving problems, since you need to spend a hell lot of time brainstorming a problem, if you really want to make those neural connections, that leverages your problem solving capacity.
I'm guessing that you are an undergrad, worried about career, life, future and all those stuffs. You have very strict schedule which restricts the time you can spend on any one activity.
And so now CP is not anymore appealing to you because you are not able to dive any deeper, which again needs time. But time is important, and life is uncertain.
Should I just quit CP ?
If you fall under the assumptions that I mentioned above, then my answer would be both yes and no.
Yes because, CP is time consuming and you might not see immediate effect. So focus on something that is more career oriented. You can go with Leetcode btw.
No because, since you said you used to do it for fun, so you might wanna give it another shot, maybe after some months / years when you'll become relatively stable and will have enough time to devote.

If you are not enjoying it, it would be a tough path to follow but We are no one to advice leaving and pursuing CP, but what I can suggest is that you should upsolve the contests as much as you can and someday you will surely do good.
Good luck buddy :)
According to me, continuing CP is a good choice (let be anywhere if not Codeforces platform) because doing CP keeps you UP all the time. Your brain does not get lazy. Moreover, directly or indirectly the thinking process/strategy we use here is used in real life and that help us to tackle the problem easily.

You took part in only one game and solved only one problem. Why not continue to solve the problems? Maybe you'll be interested.
