Following outcry, Discord has cancelled plans to integrate Ethereum and NFT.
- Popular community messaging app Discord has been forced to walk back its plans to integrate with Ethereum-based nonfungible tokens following a strong backlash from a significant number of its user base.
- While Jason Citron said the NFT feature was in “pre-release” mode, he has now changed his tune after being bombarded with thousands of comments calling on him to drop the plans.
- Despite Discord being a commonly-used app among the crypto community – with NFT projects, in particular, using the platform to build communities – it appears that the gaming contingent is not so fond of crypto.
